Margarita Lypiridou:Biography

Margarita Lypiridou is a multi-disciplinary visual artist working primarily in painting, print media, artist books and video. She was born in Thessaloniki, Greece and studied painting and drawing, applied arts and multimedia in Greece. She then continued in London, England, studying graphic design and photography. In 2002 she moved to Canada where she earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Print Media and a Master’s degree of Fine Arts in Studio Art at Concordia University in Montreal.

Lypiridou had her first solo exhibition in 1995 and since then her work has been shown in numerous solo and group exhibitions in Europe and North America.

Margarita Lypiridou teaches and makes art in Montreal.

Margarita Lypiridou est une artiste multidisciplinaire d’origine grecque. Elle oeuvre principalement dans les domaines de la peinture, de l’estampe, du livre d’artiste et du video. Dans son pays natal, elle a fait des études en peinture, en dessin, en arts décoratifs et en multimédia. Elle se dirige ensuite en design graphique et en photographie à Londres, en Angleterre. En 2002, elle s’installe au Canada où elle complète un baccalauréat et une maîtrise en arts visuels à l’Université Concordia à Montréal.

Depuis 1995, elle participe à plusieurs expositions solos et collectives en Europe et en Amérique du Nord.
